Canterbury Bell by Marston's Inns

Easy to find hotel, rooms seem nice and modern. My only gripe is it would be nice to have a vending machine on sight where you could purchase drinks without going to the bar.

Good location to a lot of ammenities. The room was very quiet even though it's quite close to the main road. The stay was great value for money. I didn't eat at the pub but the menu looked good and the pub was very welcoming and had a pleasent atmosphere.

Straight forward check in and out process. The room was clean and had Air Con/Heating, the bed was comfortable, we didn't hear anything other guests during our stay. The restaurant is directly opposite and the food is lovely. Our stay was very pleasant.

A pleasant stay (Once we moved rooms!) Overall: I'd call this a mostly pleasant experience, with a couple of hiccups that were thankfully sorted out. The best part of this hotel is definitely the great location—you can't beat being that close to Westwood Cross. We liked having the pub right next door. The staff there are always friendly and really make the place shine. It's a nice spot, but just a friendly heads-up: it does seem to get very busy during "rush hour," so plan accordingly if you want to grab a quiet drink! We had a small issue when we first arrived. Our initial room, Room 204, had a distinct smell—it was musty (or maybe it was mold, hard to tell!). However, the team was great and moved us right away to Room 105. This room was much better and totally comfortable. Thanks to the staff for helping us switch! A small on the bathroom: One thing we noticed is the shower situation. We really prefer showers over bathtubs, and the tubs here are quite high to climb into. If you have any trouble stepping up, just be aware of that!

Our room was nice apart from the window, paper was stuffed in the gaps and a draft was blowing through constantly. Housekeeping did a wonderful job. Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast, the waiter serving us was not the friendliest of people. He needs training for people skills.

I absolutely loved our stay. The staff were so keen to assist and always ensuring we have everything we need. Our room was spacious and clean, however I did not care for the showerhead being attached to the wall and unable to move it. Anything extra we might needed we could just ask. As for the pub, the Canterbury Bell, we fell in love with it. The atmosphere, the friendliness ,service and the food all 10 out of 10. We enjoyed dinner and drinks to the fullest. Locatios is also key if you want to visit the surrounding areas. Buses are located opposite the inn and run every 8 minutes. And the other great thing about the location is that is placed opposite a massive shopping area. Literally, every shop I can imagine was there. I will definitely recommend the Inn and the Pub to everyone I know. It is the perfect get away and I feel so happy I found it.

Pleasant enough stay in the hotel, clean room and bathroom, adequate facilities. The only disappointment was that the coffee machine was not working in the morning, and the male member of staff that I asked about it was very dismissive - it was only when I went to take a photo of the broken machine that the manager stepped in and offered to make me a coffee behind the bar. Well done to him - that is the level of service I would expect.
